After about 20 years of using hand me down, mismatched, rusting and breaking screwdrivers my husband and I decided it was time to get a new set. This set looked like it would fit what we wanted because it had a variety of Phillips and flat ends in various sizes. We didn't really need any special ends as we have one that you can change out the bits and a huge assortment of bits to change into it so primarily we wanted Phillips and flats as those are what are needed the most for jobs around the house.
The materials used seem to be really good, very strong, and durable. IThe handles seem moderately comfortable, the tips are decent and haven't had any problems chipping or anything so far. The magnetization is good and strong enough to hold a screw without falling off. I really like the anti-roll feature and I love that it has the labels on the top to tell you what size and tip it is. It makes it easy to find the exact screwdriver you're looking for and makes it easy to organize them.
Speaking of organizing though, what's up with this stand? I like the idea, but we had a lot of difficulties putting it together. I couldn't get the legs in, my husband couldn't get the legs in, my adult daughter couldn't get the legs in, my 11 year-old son couldn't get the legs in. We thought for sure something was wrong with out stand or it was poorly designed. We spent a few hours collectively trying to put this stand together. We gave up and just put the screwdrivers in our tool chest's drawer and left the stand on a side table in the house and sort of forgot about it. Then one day my older son just picked it up and popped them in place like it was the easiest thing in the world. None of us could believe it. So, this stand is kind of fickle, I don't know the trick to getting it together, but it can be done though it may cause a lot of frustration.
I think this is very reasonably priced, you end up paying about $1 per screwdriver and they seem better than a screwdriver I actually did pick up at a dollar store so I think it's a good value and would probably make a nice set for someone who's just building their tool collection or just moved into their first home... or someone who's been living in their home for 20 years and possibly needs a new set ;)
At first I hung this on a pegboard that is part of the back of my workbench. It's got keyholes for some screws so I just put cable ties through those and through the pegboard. After using this on my main workbench I decided it would be better at use on my electronics workbench. I installed the legs and left this to sit next to the soldering iron. It's a great benchtop companion. Lots of smaller screwdrivers that are needed for electronics. The stand functions well on the benchtop.
These are very good quality screwdrivers. I like the labels on the top of each handle and the sides. That helps a lot. The tips are nice and grippy as well. While I'm not using them for mechanic work, they have worked well for putting some office furniture together.
I like these Intertool screwdrivers and recommend this set.
